Luis Lino Ferreira was born in 1971 and has a MSc (1997) and a PhD (2005) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Porto. Since 1996 he works at the Department of Computer Engineering, School of Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.
From its foundation (in 1997) he is a member of the CISTER research group, where he currently holds the position of Adjunct Director. His research interests are in the areas of real-time systems and networks, wireless sensor networks, Middlewares, Service Oriented Architectures for IoT, smart-grids and IoT applications.
He has participated in several national and European projects, particularly in Arrowhead, MANTIS, ENCOURAGE, Productive 4.0, Flexigy and Smart-PDM.
