AERO.NEXT flight execution
Lousã, Portugal
Project: AERO.NEXT
The purpose of this mission was the execution of flights in a controlled environment of a drone equipped with air quality sensors as part of the development of the "Fire Detection System," a system under the responsibility of ISEP for the ARX RPAS of the AERO.NEXT Project (approved PAD C68448). The flights took place at Lousã Aerodrome, near Coimbra, on August 6th, from 11:00 to 14:00 using a DJI Matrice 600 equipped with an air quality sensors module developed and integrated by CISTER using a Raspberry Pi 4 as a processing host. Several minutes of sensor data were recorded and will be used to assess the quality of the air quality sensor outputs while in motion.
